Patient, persevering for so long, the cancer in its early stage
Nation at a crossroads between Death and Life
The tricolor shoe replaced with the saffron boot
The apparition of blood and military occupation
The peace keeping force sent to carry out genocide.
Death by suffocation or under a rapist in khaki gear
A foul choice hoisted by a foul nation in a heat of jahiliya
The sun setting every day with a silent warning
The slimy bubbly grotesque hands reaching for the Avarna's forelock
As he slowly stirs from the sleep of the poppy fields.
May Allah curse you India for what you have done
May you crumble into a thousands pieces and be forgotten
May your knuckles shatter over Kashmir
May the forests repel your greedy rapacious grasp
Wherever they shelter, may the stones call out to the Righteous.
May Allah strike you from the Heavens and the Earth
May the world outcast you and your machinations
May you suffocate on your own greed and hatred
May you burn in your own violent folly
May your children orphan you.
Ya Allah, break the hands of India, cover it in shame
Let the cancer be cut off at the border and cauterized
Let Thanthai Periyar be reborn in hearts that yearn for dignity
Let the struggle for souls recommence this side of the strait
Oh Lord of the Seas, grant Tamil Nadu its destiny.

VIDEO: Periyar's Last Speech
I have struggled with a sense of belonging for a very long time, being the chance product of a diverse and cruel Subcontinent. I haven't resolved it fully, but I know that today's India cannot be a home for anyone who desires to live with dignity. I had the fortune to be able to leave, but the home that nurtured me as a child remains in the grip of a drunken, criminal, lunatic nation, and the seafaring shudra people from whom the walls of identity were thinnest remain in thrall across the waters they were long masters of. As long as a Dravidian may understand the words of Periyar, this will be only temporary.
