A bad human keeps a bad dog
A purebred human keeps a purebred dog
The mark of a purebred is its fine fur coat
The mark of a bad dog is panting in the shade of a neem
The purebred is of tender and subtle disposition
The bad dog does not give a damn about subtleties
The purebred has his bowl and his collar and his toy and his bed
The bad dog in his jugaadi collar keeps an eye for scraps and sticks and cars and good humans and mean humans
The bad dog has a harsh world in the alleyways of life
The purebred gazes at him through the haze of condensation on the window.

Human and nonhuman have had an odd relationship throughout history - exploitation and friendship, love and fear. The current controversy over street dogs is yet another example of this, especially the dichotomy some are making between feral and tame.
