Gotterdammerung.
When the hidden forced itself to be heard
A great explosion of igneous heat
The jahiliya that festered in the wound
A house of lies falling under its own weight.
The idols and gargoyles in the pantheon
Grimace mute as it burns about them
The sacrificial fire that caught Caesar's robe
The plane that hits the Pentagon
The olive trees that the Devil felled in mischief
Blazing in Hell, awaiting an inevitable justice.
Gotterdammerung!
A veil of soil peeled back to reveal the insects
Hiding from warmth, readying for a carnival of rot
The reign of the King of Insects over once fertile soil
The tribute of his devotees in takathur of decay
A land upturned by its rightful false gods.
And if there must be inferno that brings death
Perhaps it will cleanse the rot and plague away
If the Lord of Detrius must play arsonist
Then let it char his castles of clay
For if the day leaves, it must return
If there must be grief, may I learn
And may the flowers bloom once again from
Gotterdammerung.
